Today’s post goes out to my mom, who has a birthday today. She is not only my best friend, but a kind, generous, and thoughtful person who taught me to love books by taking me to the library often as a girl. She created a wonderful home for all of us and encouraged us to be good people. She caught the Julia Child cooking fever when it was de rigeur and I remember the day we made our first crepes at home. These days she is still an amazing cook, hostess, photographer, reader, and gardener and has a wide circle of friends that she sees often. She’s going hiking today and then, if I know her, she and my father will have tea in the afternoon. In fact, she sent two teabag tags this week to our daughter for the teabag wisdom collection. Thanks Mom! We love you so much.
